1972 Eureka Twin Power Automatic model 2070D
This beauty is a real classic, I am lucky to have it. I got this for my birthday in 2007 from a friend. The cleaner was found stashed in the back of a closet at an estate sale, in a home with very little carpeting. Look at the belt pulley on the brush roll, there is no paint worn off at all. This cleaner has seen very little use in its life. Also noteworthy is the fact that this is an early Vibra Groomer I machine. Eureka had some bearing issues with early Vibra Groomer I's and some were recalled/replaced. Here is one that was not replaced, and you can hear the somewhat noisy bearings both when I spin the brush by hand, and when the cleaner winds down after use. This is another cleaner from childhood too. When I was growing up there was a family down the street with 6 kids, their vacuum was a Eureka 1020 vibra-beat canister. They got new carpeting, and along with that came this model Eureka upright. This model was my first experience with Eureka, I was fascinated by it, and thrilled to get a couple of chances to use it. The family moved away a couple of years later, and over the years I have had one other of these come and go through my hands. I won't be letting this one go!
